So, it's time for menty to do one of his random life updates. That way all my fans can keep up with what I'm doing, Instead of having to look through issues of People.

It's a service I'm glad to perform.

Anyway.

I'm changing jobs. Not from management to driving or back or anything like that. I'm leaving Domino's for the local call center. I found out today that I sart on the 1st. I will be missed. (by their bullshit standards, I was the best driver, at least on paper...)

The little upstart game store apparently has some stuff I want. I thought they were just a GW outlet, and had mostly given them a pass. I'm trying not to collect minis right now. I went in after the testing and interview, and they had some hardback D&D, a copy of Feng Shui (I shoulda asked if they could get UA, didn't think about it then...), various 'clix, and Betrayal on House on the Hill. I got Betrayal. They also had Puerto Rico, which I may go back for later. Also some horrorclix, because that's how I roll.

Also, I'ma gonna try my hands at hobby electronics and robotics. I've wanted to build robots since I was six, and now I can. So, nyeah.

Love all ya'll,

menty.

I'm glad that you are leaving Domino's; I've known lots of people who have worked there over the years, and if you had one nice thing to say about the place, it would be the first I have ever heard!

As for making robots, well, I don't know much about that, but I do subscribe to Make magazine, and they seem to know a great deal about it. They have a pretty awesome website as well, if you are not familiar with it already.
http://makezine.com/

The magazine itself (assuming you can find a hard copy, which is not an easy thing) has ads for all sorts of robot-building resources. I like to pretend that I could chuck it all and build my own robot army (in much the same way that some guys like to pretend they could still become a ninja), but I know it just ain't gonna happen. I'm more than happy to give you an enthusiastic cheer though! WOOOO-HOOOOO! Go Menty!

The bad stuff I can say about Domino's right now is mostly very specific to the one store I'm working in (hours cut, new drivers given tenured spots (i.e. weekday daytime driving) and more hours than some of the AMs, lack of cleanliness, croneyism, racism, etc.)

(I should mention that the one real racist we have is universally disliked - he's on his way out.)

I enjoy working at Domino's. It hurt my feelings to have to look for a new job. Fining one in 2 days was a bonus.

I've seen a Make magazine hardcopy (the local waldenbooks used to have one...maybe I'll go see if they still do.). In fact, one of the projects on my pile o' ideas is the Frankenmouse, which is a simple 'bot built in an old computer mouse body. It was in the (i think) second issue.

I'm well on my way to getting started! I have two ...For Dummies books on electronics and a basic robot-building book on the way from Amazon. Also, my dad got me one of those nice "cool soldering iron" things. (along with a bitchin' furry hat.)

I have my eye on the Sumovore from www.Solarbotics.com. It's a nifty little thing, and after reading the PDF, I'm pretty certain I can put it together without major injury or immolation.

Wow, this is a long response.

Thanks for the vote of confidence!
